
Manitowoc Lincoln jumped out to a 15-to-2 lead and never-looked-back in routing Sheboygan North 61-40 in the opening game of the WIAA Division-1 Regional Boys Basketball Tournament last night (February 16th).
The Ships were on top 28-12 at halftime and weathered a mini-run Golden Raiders run in the 2nd half to capture their tournament opener & win a postseason game for the first time in 7-years.
Mason Dopirak again led the way with a game-high 28-points to go along with 9-rebounds, Spencer Wigand chipped in 9-points, Gage Cornell had 8, Matus Dopirak tallied 7 and Sam Jacobson added 6-points and 10-rebounds.
Lincoln played selflessly with 17-assists, and Cornell lead that statistic with 5.
The North Golden Raiders were paced by Max Tutas with 18-points.
Lincoln now travels to #1 seeded Fond du lac for a Regional semifinal contest on Friday (February 19th).
