Lieutenant Governor Mandela Barnes’ campaign has paid a $1,652 fine to the state Ethics Commission for taking too much money from a political action committee.
Wisconsin state law limits a lieutenant governor candidate to 26-thousand dollars in donations from a PAC.
Barnes’ campaign exceeded that amount through five in-kind donations from the Wisconsin Working Families Party Political Action Committee in 2018.
The Democrat Barnes has said Republicans are focusing on issues from the past.
