The Green Bay Police Department is utilizing the local fame of K9 Pyro to help raise money for the K9 Unit in which he serves.
Over the weekend, people were able to purchase a Valentine’s Day card signed by Pyro, and a photo op with the K9 who survived a stabbing attack in 2019.
Pyro was on a call with his fellow officers regarding a man with a knife. Pyro never hesitated and put himself in harm’s way to protect his fellow law enforcement partners, receiving life-threatening injuries in the process.
He has since fully recovered and continues to serve the community.
All money received from the Valentine’s Day promotion will stand outside the Police Department in honor of all the K9’s who have served or will serve the Green Bay community.
