
The WIAA has released the brackets for the upcoming Boys Basketball Tournament.
In Division-1 pairings, Manitowoc Lincoln has the #4 seed in its’ 6-team Regional bracket and the Ships will host #5 Sheboygan North in a 7:00 PM contest at JFK Fieldhouse next Tuesday, February 16th. The winner plays at #1 Fond du Lac on Friday, February 19th. Sheboygan South is at Oshkosh North in its’ opener, while #2 seed Oshkosh West, like Fond du Lac, has a first night bye.
Division-2, Two Rivers with the #5 seed will travel to EWC foe Sheboygan Falls next Tuesday, with the winner advancing to play top-seeded Denmark in the Regional semifinals the following Friday.
Division-3, Brillion and Valders are seeded #1 and 2, respectively, and with that drew opening night byes. The Lions host either #4 Kewaunee or #5-Chilton while the Vikings play the Southern Door-Sturgeon Bay winner. In a separate Regional bracket, Oostburg is seeded 1st with Kiel 2nd and those two schools have 1st night byes. The Flying Dutchmen meet either Howards Grove or Random Lake, while the Raiders face the Cedar Grove-Belgium-New Holstein winner.
In Division-4, Roncalli and Sheboygan Lutheran received #1 seeds in their respective Regional brackets, and don’t play on opening night of the tournament. The Jets will host the Mishicot-Sevastopol winner on Friday February 19th. Manitowoc Lutheran, a 2 seed, also gets a 1st night bye and the Lancers are at home on the 19th against either Gibraltar or Algoma.
The Crusaders of Sheboygan Lutheran will host either Pardeeville or Oakfield in the Regional semi’s. In their Regional grouping, Reedsville has the 3-seed and the Panthers travel to 2nd seeded Shiocton on Friday, the 19th, while the Hilbert Wolves are at Manawa next Tuesday.
