
Marquette wiped out the double-digit lead held by St. John’s, closed to within a point three times in the final three-and-a-half minutes, but wound up losing Sunday 75-73.
The third straight loss drops the Golden Eagles below the .500 mark at 8-9 and are 4-7 in Big East Conference games.
Dawson Garcia’s 20 points and nine rebounds led the way and Marquette had all five starters in double figures, but the Golden Eagles bench players were scoreless in 22 minutes of playing time.
Marquette had defeated the Red Storm by two points just two weeks ago.
