Sheriff’s Deputies in Brown County were led on a high-speed chase over the weekend after three vehicles were stolen from a home in Howard.
The investigators were able to quickly locate two of the stolen cars abandoned near Green Bay West High School with help from OnStar, while the third vehicle, driven by 20-year-old Rickardo Richards, was spotted near West Mason Street and I-41.
Richards made his way onto the highway, traveling in the wrong direction, and narrowly missed a head-on collision with a semi. The deputy attempted to stop the vehicle with a PIT maneuver but was unsuccessful.
Roughly nine miles down the highway, Richards simply pulled over and was arrested.
Investigators found a loaded handgun in the vehicle, which was traced back to Chicago where it was reported as stolen. Other items were found in the vehicle, which were believed to have been stolen from the Howard area over the weekend as well.
A second suspect was arrested as well, 26-year-old Larry Harmon, who was arrested for drug possession and referred to the DA’s office on theft-related charges.
Both Brown County Sheriff’s investigators and Green Bay Police are now looking to see if the men could be connected to a long list of unsolved cases of thefts.
