No fans in the stands means Big Ten teams don’t have much of a homecourt advantage this season.
When Ohio State led the Badgers all 40 minutes of a 74-62 decision Saturday it marked the third straight time the Buckeyes whipped a ranked opponent on the road. Wisconsin came in ranked number 10 in the country.
Three straight 3-pointers by Aleem Ford cut the Buckeyes’ lead to 62-58 with 4:40 left in the game. He missed the next time down court and Ohio State (12-and-4, 6-and-4 Big Ten) put the game out of reach with six straight points.
Ford led the Badgers scoring 13 points, while D’Mitrik Trice had a dozen.
The Badgers conference-leading defense allowed the visitors to hit 51% from the floor.
Wisconsin (12-and-4, 6-and-3 Big Ten) tries to bounce back when it visits Penn State Wednesday.
