The family has identified a 13-year-old girl shot to death around 6:45 AM last Saturday as Navaeha Ware.
The teen was killed while riding inside a car Saturday morning. Friends of the family say this is the second time the girl’s parents have lost a child to gun violence. Her brother was murdered four years ago in 2017.
Police say they are still looking for the shooter who was said to be in a dark colored car with tinted windows. A person who was nearby reports he heard at least 10 shots fired.
The victim snuck out of her home that morning to meet up with a friend on the other side of town. She never made it back home.
