Kenosha police say one officer saw a person fire a handgun into the air early Sunday as he was responded to a shots-fired call.
Police say several people were taken into custody and weapons were seized at the end of a standoff that started at about midnight. The small group of people standing outside ran into the home when the officer identified himself.
The suspects were finally arrested after the Kenosha County Tactical Response Team joined the effort.
Police say they don’t think the incident is connected to protests over last week’s decision not to file charges against the officer who shot Jacob Blake.
No names have been released and police didn’t give a firm number of people who were taken into custody.
