The University of Wisconsin volleyball team got 40 of the 62 first-place votes in the preseason poll by the American Volleyball Coaches Association.
The Badgers are ranked number-one. Four other teams in the Big Ten are ranked in the top 25 – Minnesota, Penn State, Purdue, and Michigan.
The Big Ten and most other conferences postponed the traditional fall season to start this month.
Wisconsin will open the season with two matches against Purdue the weekend of January 22nd.
Wisconsin returns most of the roster that rolled up a solid 27-and-7 record in the 2019 season, losing to Stanford in the championship match.
