Marquette’s up-and-down season continued at home Tuesday night with an epic collapse.
Freshman Dawson Garcia’s double-double, 20 points and 11 rebounds, wasn’t nearly enough in a 65-54 loss to U-Conn.
The Golden Eagles blew an 18-point lead in the second half.
The game started with the Eagles scoring 13 straight points to take a 20-10 lead. They were up 31-23 going into the break and emerged from the dressing room to score another 10 points in-a-row.
Leading 43-25, everything fell apart and the Huskies outscored Marquette 40-11 the rest of the way.
The Golden Eagles didn’t put up much resistance while seeing their record drop to 6-and-6.
Number-three Villanova waits for Marquette to visit Friday in the next game.
