The Wisconsin Badgers are celebrating a 42-28 win over Wake Forest in the Duke’s Mayo Bowl in Charlotte.
The players were dancing after the game Wednesday when quarterback Graham Mertz dropped the football-shaped crystal trophy, shattering it on the locker room floor.
The Badgers got second-half interceptions from Noah Burks, Scott Nelson, Jack Sanborn and Collin Wilder.
U-W improved to 4-and-3 to finish 2020 with a winning record. Nelson says this victory gives them momentum going into next season.
Wisconsin is 5-and-1 in bowl games under coach Paul Chryst.
