A change in the Big Ten rules for how long players have to sit out after contracting COVID-19 means the Wisconsin Badgers could have freshman tailback Jalen Berger in the lineup for the Mayo Bowl.
Players now have to sit out 17 days – the old standard was 21. Although Berger has played in only three games, he leads the Badgers with 267 rushing yards, an average of 5.9 yards-a-carry.
It remains to be seen whether the Badgers’ wide receivers Danny Davis the Third and Kendrick Pryor are back in the lineup. They, along with left tackle Cole Van Lanen, have been sidelined with injuries not related to the coronavirus pandemic.
