Last week we reported that the Sheboygan County Salvation Army was quite a bit behind on their Red Kettle Campaign goal.
That is not quite the same case in Manitowoc County according to Lt. Jenny Moffitt. “We are a little behind last year at this point, but not by a significant amount,” she told SeehaferNews.com. “In that way I guess I am grateful for Manitowoc and how generous they have been thus far.”
A big part of that relative success given everything that has happened this year is the Season Pass Pins, which Shoreline Hometown Credit Union provides.
Moffitt made a prediction about the program, saying, “I can’t say for sure because they keep that number close to the vest over at Shoreline, but I have a feeling we are going to break records with the Season Pass Pins this year.”
We will be speaking with a representative from Shoreline later this week, where will get the final totals.
Another major contributor is the Battle of the Financials, as they received $1,300 more this year than they did last year. Moffit said they plan on potentially presenting the award to the winning financial institution today.
Moffitt also said, “We’ve had a really good push this past week. Last week on Tuesday we were $12,000 behind last year, but on Thursday we were only $1,900 away from last year.”
That is a $3,000 swing in just 2 days, with a lot of it coming from the Battle of the Financials program.
Another major reason for their success has been the paperless options, including the text to pay option, and the scannable code on the side of the kettles, which have helped people stay safe while still donating.
There are only a few days left to donate, and help push them over their goal.
