The Louisville Cardinals’ first venture back onto a college basketball court in nearly three weeks ended with the program’s worst defeat in more than 60 years.
With several players missing due to COVID-19, the Cardinals were demolished by Wisconsin Saturday 85-48.
Wisconsin led 44-18 at the half and wasn’t ever threatened in the make-up game from December 9th.
The Badgers were led by forward Micah Potter’s 20 points, but the one-sided victory was driven by 16-of-25 shooting by U-W from outside the 3-point arc.
Louisville (4-and-1) started two freshmen and three sophomores – and paid the price for inexperience.
The Big Ten Conference has won 7-of-12 games in this year’s “Challenge.”
The 6-and-1 Badgers host Nebraska Tuesday night.
