A 30-year-old Door County man is facing burglary charges after allegedly breaking into a Sister Bay business earlier this week.
Sheriff’s Deputies were alerted to an intrusion at the Hometown Pharmacy early Monday morning. Upon arrival, they encountered a suspect as he was attempting to exit the store with a large bag and taken into custody without incident.
An investigation determined he allegedly broke the glass out of the front door to gain entry. Deputies also located his vehicle in an area close to the pharmacy which was towed from the scene.
A subsequent search of the suspect uncovered over 125 bulk prescription medication boxes and bottles along with a ball-peen hammer, a box cutter, and a cash box containing a small amount of cash.
Investigators are also referring charges of possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia to the Door County District Attorney’s Office.
He remains in the County Jail on a $5000 cash bond.
