The Sheboygan Salvation Army’s Red Kettle Campaign is not going as well as they had hoped it would.
With a little over a week remaining, they have only reached 25% of their $150,000 goal.
Leaders at the Salvation Army said they did expect a smaller turnout this year due to COVID-19 keeping shoppers at home and affecting the incomes of so many people. That, and fewer people have volunteered to man the kettles, which has historically shown that people are less likely to donate.
They are hopeful that people will start to donate, as the Red Kettle Campaign is the biggest fundraiser for the organization each year.
