The City of Manitowoc officially has another candidate for the Office of Mayor.
Longtime resident and former high school Teacher Chris Able submitted his nomination papers Monday afternoon and his name will now appear on the April 6 ballot.
“I want to thank everyone for their support, across the 10 of the City’s Aldermanic Districts. I did not expect to complete these paper’s this quickly,” Able told SeehaferNews.com. “I think it shows a readiness throughout Manitowoc for change, long term planning, and good old common sense.”
Candidate Able brings a wide range of experience to the campaign such as being an alderman in District 3 for five terms from 2007 to 2017, as well as president of the Library Board of Trustees.
Abel said he wanted to run for the office of Mayor of Manitowoc because, “I think there is great promise coming up for us, and I think with some good planning, and an ability to work strategically with the Council, with other local areas of government, and with the state, we can really accomplish a lot.”
Chris Able will be opposing Justin Nickels who is running for his fourth term in the April 6 election.
Candidates have until the end of this year to file nomination papers for the Office of Mayor.
