One of the Lakeshore’s longest holiday traditions “Evergleam On Eighth” is captivating holiday crowds patronizing Downtown Manitowoc. Barb-Bundy Jost calls herself a proud and forever “Evergleamer”.
“Sixty years ago the Aluminum Specialty Company (of Manitowoc) decided to name the Aluminum tree the Evergleam tree so this year we’re celebrating the 60th anniversary of the Evergleam name.”
Bundy-Jost says the “Evergleam Trees” show off in multitudes of shapes and colors.
“I didn’t realize until many years later that these trees not only come in sliver but also pink, gold, and green. Sometimes the silver trees had blue-turquoise tips. When you drive past the Library you’ll see the “variety pack” of trees in full splendor.”
That variety pack includes “peacock trees” where decorations meet in the back to form a decorative tail along with an “Evergreen” tree.
“Evergleam on Eighth” runs through January 10th. For more information and a map of where to find these beautiful trees visit their Facebook page.
