
The Wisconsin women’s basketball team managed to keep it close, but the Badgers still dropped their Big Ten Conference opener at Iowa Saturday 85-78.
The Hawkeyes led 74-55 with less than six minutes left in the game, but a Badgers rally fell short.
Wisconsin missed 17-of-21 3-pointers but outrebounded Iowa 49-33.
Sophomore Sydney Hilliard led all scorers with 26 points, while Junior Imani Lewis scored 17 and pulled down 11 rebounds.
U-W will host Rutgers Friday at the Kohl Center.
