The owners of Metcalfe’s Market in Madison have given their employees a holiday without work for the first time in 103 years.
The store locked its doors for a day on Thanksgiving, and they are going to do the same thing for Christmas.
Owner Tim Metcalfe says the decision was made to let workers spend time with their families.
The decision was announced on Facebook two months ago so customers would know they couldn’t count on making a last-minute trip for things they forgot.
