Sophomore Cole Caufield’s hat trick led the Wisconsin Badgers to a 7-3 win over Penn State, completing the series sweep Tuesday night.
It was the second hat trick of the career for Caufield who led the Big Ten in scoring last season. It also kept the Nittany Lions winless on the young season.
Goaltender Robbie Beydoun had 35 saves as Wisconsin improved its record to 4-and-2.
Freshman Sam Stange had three goals in the two-game series, one in Tuesday’s victory.
It’s a short week, with a home series against Arizona State coming up this weekend.
