Fueled by record-low mortgage rates, Wisconsin’s existing home market saw another sharp increase in sales and prices in October.
That’s according to the most recent monthly analysis from the Wisconsin Realtors Association. Home sales are up 4.5% through October, compared to the first 10-months of 2019. Numbers for Manitowoc County are very similar to statewide statistics, with a rise of 4.6% in sales at 942, as opposed to 901 a year ago.
The median price also went up from $120,000 to nearly $132,000, which represents a hike of almost 10%. The WRA figures for our county show the monthly inventory of homes for sale declined by 37% this October compared to the same month in 2019. And, the average days that a property was on the market last month in Manitowoc County dropped nearly 21%, from 91 days to 72 days compared to October of 2019.
