Milwaukee is admitting its former police chief didn’t get due process when he was demoted last August.
Alfonso Morales is suing the city for $625,000 in lost wages.
Monday, attorneys for the city admitted Morales wasn’t afforded due process.
They are asking the court to send the case back to the Fire and Police Commission for a full hearing.
Morales has alleged breach of contract, denial of due process, loss of reputation in the community, and loss of future career opportunities.
The commission has said it plans to select Morales’ permanent replacement by December 3rd.
