The Manitowoc Recreation Division is hosting two youth sports camps this weekend and next.
An hour-and-a-half long baseball camp is set for this Saturday (November 14th) starting at 10:00 AM for kids ages 7-15. Those who sign up will be able to work on skills & drills related to pitching, hitting, fielding, and base-running.
The camp will be limited to 10 young people and is set for the Citizen Park Gym at 930 North 18th Street.
Youngsters are asked to bring their own bat, if possible, baseballs, tennis balls, and a small hand-towel.
Then, a week later on Saturday, November 21st the Recreation Division will host three 1-hour long mini-basketball camps.
Those basketball camps are scheduled for 9:00 AM, 10:30 AM, or Noon and will be limited to 4 kids to allow for safe social distancing.
The focus is to work on shooting drills, defense, and ball-handling during the sessions in the CP Gym. Participants should bring their own basketball to the camp if possible.
Masks are required for both sports camps.
