Freshman guard Lorne Bowman has withdrawn from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and its basketball program to return home to deal with a family matter.
Bowman had already taken a leave of absence earlier this term.
Wisconsin coach Greg Gard says he’s in communication with Bowman and his family, but school officials aren’t specifying the nature of the family issue.
Gard says the issue Bowman has been dealing with at home turned out to be more of a problem than anyone expected – including the player himself.
