No decision has been made about the Badgers starting quarterback for Saturday’s game at Michigan.
Offensive coordinator Joe Rudolph says redshirt freshman Graham Mertz is Q-B-1, but it isn’t clear if he will be ready to go. Mertz clears the program’s COVID-19 protocol this week, but he may not get enough quality practice time to be ready to lead the offense against the Wolverines.
If not, Chase Wolf is the backup and Rudolph says the coaches also have confidence in Danny Vanden Boom.
Badger games against Nebraska and Purdue were canceled. One more cancellation and the Badgers won’t be eligible for the Big Ten Championship game.
