Citing the warmer temperatures, higher wind levels, and dry vegetation, the DNR is warning that the wildfire danger level has risen.
Reports indicate that around 50 wildfires have broken out in the state over the past week, with most remaining small. That being said, the potential for rapid growth is present due to those blustery winds, so people are being asked to be careful with fire related materials.
Most of the recent fires were started due to sparks which came from burning leaves and brush, and sparks that came from lawn and recreational equipment.
If you are ever in doubt as to the safety of having a fire, you are encouraged to contact your local fire department.
