Tuesday’s election has created a pair of firsts for the Wisconsin Legislature.
Democrat Samba Baldeh of Madison is the first Muslim to be elected to the Assembly. He currently serves on Madison’s Common Council. Baldeh will represent voters in the 49th Assembly District.
And, newly-elected State Senator Julian Bradley is making history by becoming the first-ever Black Republican to be voted in to the Wisconsin Senate. Bradley’s 28th Senate District is located in parts of Milwaukee, Racine, Walworth and Waukesha counties.
