Two Wauwatosa protesters are suing that city saying their constitutional rights were violated last month.
Kathryn Knowlton and Dana McCormick filed their federal lawsuit against the city, Police Chief Barry Weber, and Mayor Dennis McBride.
The women say their 4th Amendment rights were violated outside Wauwatosa City Hall when police began to disperse a crowd.
They say they had been sitting and reading books before the big crowd of protesters arrived.
When they tried to leave, the two say a line of police officers stopped them.
Knowlton and McCormick also say their 1st Amendment rights were violated.
