
Election officials say it will be later today (Wednesday) and maybe Thursday before final vote totals are available.
It takes longer to count absentee ballots and mail-in votes – and nearly two-million Wisconsin voters made their choices that way.
Joe Biden is leading President Trump in the battle for this state’s electoral votes, with 98-percent of the votes being counted as of 4:00 a-m.
Biden holds a slim edge of 8,000 votes among the 3.1 million counted.
All incumbent members of the Wisconsin congressional delegation held their seats. Senate Majority Leader Scott Fitzgerald easily defeated Tom Palzewicz for the open District 5 seat. Assembly Speaker Robin Vos held onto his 63rd district seat.
Many local election officials are reporting a record turnout of voters for Tuesday’s presidential election.
Some locations like Madison report more than 82 percent of registered voters either went to the polls Tuesday or voted early.
Lines were long on Election Day, but the process usually moved quickly.
Despite the bitterness of the campaign, there were no major issues reported from Wisconsin polling locations.
