The addition of 71 new free community testing sites means an additional 48 thousand people can be tested for coronavirus each week.
The expansion of testing for the virus was announced Thursday by Governor Tony Evers and Wisconsin Department of Health Services Secretary-designee Andrea Palm.
The expansion of the state’s testing efforts is being funded by the federal CARES Act.
So far, more than a half-billion dollars in federal money has been dedicated to the support of Wisconsin testing.
