A Milwaukee County supervisor proposes taking $2.6 million from the sheriff’s department and spending the money on community services.
Supervisor Ryan Clancy says he wants to cut wasteful, unnecessary, or duplicative spending, shifting the money to essential county services, programs, infrastructure, and amenities.
He’s basically talking about eliminating 60,000 hours of overtime costs.
The money would be diverted to funding parks and housing needs, services for youth, the county library system, senior centers, and the Office on African American Affairs.
