A Dodge County Circuit Court judge has sentenced a Beaver Dam woman to six years in prison for a drunk driving accident last year that killed the passenger in her car.
24-year-old Cindy Esparza was convicted of homicide by intoxicated use of a vehicle.
Prosecutors said she and the passenger left a bar after drinking. A few minutes later Esparza drove off a bridge in Beaver Dam.
Police officers jumped into the cold water to rescue her, but they couldn’t save the passenger.
The victim was Jared Frakes, Esparza’s boyfriend.
