The Milwaukee Brewers didn’t get a lot of help from their bench during the shortened 2020 season, and as they go shopping for more hitting, some players have to go.
FanSided.com is pointing at infielders Ryon Healy, Jace Peterson, and Eric Sogard.
Healy only got seven at-bats during the regular season and couldn’t crack the lineup – even when starting first baseman Justin Smoak was hitting a 1.76.
Peterson is versatile, playing a lot of positions, but he’s not a strong defender at any of them and hit only .200 this year.
Sogard is a good guy, a leader, and a solid defender. If you keep one of the three, he’s the one, but the 34-year-old hit only .209.
Not only do the Brewers need to find some power somewhere, they need better backups to keep qualifying for the postseason.
