While everyone has been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic in one way or another, one group that has seen a dramatic change in their young lives are student athletes in the Manitowoc Public School District.
We spoke with Superintendent Mark Holzman who spoke about what the future may hold.
“We moved our Fall season back to the Spring back in the beginning of the school year,” Holzman recalled. “We haven’t made any decisions for what’s coming up for our Winter sports, but what I would articulate is that is we aren’t able to be in person to learn, we are likely not going to bring students to do co-curriculars.”
He did reiterate that the goal is to return to in-person learning, and to get the athletes back in action, but as long as the pandemic rears its ugly head, that is not likely to happen.
Holzman also said that if the Burden rate falls down to around 150 again, they will likely return to in-person learning.
