Attorneys for former Milwaukee Police Chief Alfonso Morales say he wasn’t given due process from the Fire and Police Commission last August.
They are asking that Morales be reinstated in a legal brief filed Wednesday.
Morales was given 30 days to reply to a list of directives he had been given by the Commission on July 20th.
He responded, but was demoted on a unanimous vote 17 days later.
Lawyers for the former chief have filed a lawsuit against the city asking for more than $600,000 in damages for breach of contract, denial of due process, and damage to his reputation.
