State Senator Devin LeMahieu was recently presented with the “Friend of Grocers” award from the Wisconsin Grocers Association.
The “Friend of Grocers” award is given to legislators who score highly on the WGA’s Legislative Report Card, an extensive study of all legislators’ performance in the 2019-2020 Legislative Session.
Lawmakers are graded according to their actions on certain issues that are especially important to the grocery industry, including: alcohol pickup and delivery, personal property tax repeal and several other key business issues.
This is the second Friend of Grocers Award the 9th District Senator has received.
“Senator LeMaheiu has been a strong leader and advocate for the grocery industry,” said WGA’s Executive Vice President Michelle Kussow. “We are happy we can recognize him for these efforts with the Friend of Grocers Award.”
The award was presented to Senator LeMahieu by Michelle Kussow and Rick Saeger, Owner/Operator of Rick’s Piggly Wiggly in Kiel.
