Officials at the Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association say they expect things to change this winter, but they’ve provided the state’s athletic programs with a 21-page set of guidelines.
It focuses on the changes those schools will need to make to play sports during the COVID-19 pandemic.
A Sports Medical Advisory Committee made up of eight doctors, an athletic trainer, and a nutritionist worked together on the guidelines.
They grow in importance as Wisconsin emerges as one of the nation’s largest coronavirus hot spots.
One W-I-A-A official says the athletes aren’t causing the hot spots. He says they are being diligent in following the guidelines because they want to play.
