Another local event or program is a casualty of COVID-19.
Holy Family Memorial has announced it will be postponing Lean on the Lakeshore, the annual community weight-loss challenge, until 2021.
Joni Shavlik, program coordinator, said “The impact of COVID-19 has not been lost on any of us. We realize this may be disappointing news to past participants, but we are taking this as an opportunity to reassess the program and look forward to bringing new events and activities, once it’s again safe to do so.”
Shavlik is encouraging individuals to stay proactive and continue to maintain a healthy and active lifestyle during the pandemic.
She added, “As we enter the fall and winter season the entire community is encouraged to pursue exercise opportunities that operate within CDC guidelines.”
HFM will share information as soon as a new kick-off date is determined for next year.
