As apart of the $2 billion the state of Wisconsin received from the Federal CARES Act, two villages in Brown County have received some relief.
According to reports, the Village of Howard received around $320,000 while the Village of Suamico got just over $207,000.
The money was allocated based on population, and some of that money has gone toward making the villages safer from the coronavirus. The Suamico Village Administrator said that they used a portion of it to install plexiglass barriers inside their Village Hall, while in Howard, they have purchased laptops for city employees, so they could work from home.
Any money not used by December 1st will have to be returned to the State, according to Senator Robert Cowles of Green Bay.
