Veteran Milwaukee Bucks guard George Hill has been named a winner of the NBA Cares Community Assist Award.
Hill says the award is something he has always wanted to win, even more than a 3-point contest, a most-improved – “or, even, sometimes a championship.” He says knowing he has impacted a whole community is bigger than a championship for him.
Hill was among the most active Bucks players as the team and the league acknowledged the battle for racial equality just as the season was resuming in the “bubble” in Orlando.
Four other NBA players were also named: Harrison Barnes of the Kings, Jaylen Brown of the Celtics, Chris Paul of the Thunder, and Dwight Powell of the Mavericks.
