A youth football coach in Washington County is accused of exposing his team to COVID-19 by attending practice and a scrimmage while infected.
County officials say the coach was immediately relieved of his duties and the gridiron club has implemented CDC guidelines.
County Executive Josh Schoemann said in a news release, “stay home when sick, period. I have not found anyone who agrees with the coach’s decision to attend practice and a scrimmage while waiting for his test results.”
He says the club “immediately assessed contacts through video of the scrimmage, and appropriately handled the situation.”
Anyone who was exposed to the coach should contact the Washington Ozaukee Public Health Department, their doctor, or a testing site.
