
It was a tight finish last evening in the Boys race at the Jim Bremser Cross Country Invite at Mishicot.
Valders Coach Bill Dietrich tells us that his Viking boys edged out Sheboygan Lutheran 63-65 to win the team title in the 16-school competition. Brillion’s Hunter Krepline was the individual champion in a time of 15:54, just one second faster than Valders runner Shane Griepentrog.
Teammate Clay Taylor wound-up 4th. Manitowoc Lutheran placed 7th with Spencer Streich the Lancers best finisher at #18. Kiel was 8th led by Ethan Vandemeer in 13th Roncalli was 9th with Brayden Yanda leading the way in 15th Reedsville came in 10th, paced by Owen Behnke at #9 overall and Two Rivers was 11th, with Zach Fries the Raiders top finisher at 24th.
In the Girls race, Anna Gallagher of Two Rivers was the individual champion as she ran the 5k course in 19:07 helping her team to a 4th place finish.
Ozaukee wins the team title followed by Kiel, paced by Jocelyn Aprill’s 5th. Valders placed 5th with the Vikings led by Avery Kauth at #12, Reedsville ended up 8th with Grace Rezba coming in 16th, Manitowoc Lutheran wound up 9th with Brooklyn Luebke taking 3rd overall, Mishicot was 10th paced by Cora Stodola 34th and Roncalli was 11th as a team, led by Elizabeth Schmidt placing 38th.
