The Brewers lost their starting pitcher – and ground in the National League playoff chase – with a 4-2 loss at St. Louis Thursday night.
Right-hander Corbin Burnes left the game with a lower back injury in the fourth inning. Burnes allowed three runs on six hits in his final start. He was vying for the league title.
Cardinals starter Kwang Hyun Kim pitched five innings of one-run ball for the victory.
