Safety Reggie Pearson did not appear on the Wisconsin football team’s fall roster Wednesday.
Pearson started 13 of 14 games last season as a redshirt freshman and finished fourth on the team in tackles with 60.
Badgers coach Paul Chryst said Pearson is dealing with a medical condition discovered in the off-season. He said Pearson remains in school but has not been cleared to practice or play.
A Tweet said “Pearson is fine and feeling better than ever and will return to the field in due time.”
He took over as a starter in game two after Scott Nelson suffered a season-ending knee injury in the opener against South Florida, who is back and healthy this season.
