The Green Bay Packers have placed guard Lane Taylor on injured reserve. The transaction was announced Tuesday.
Taylor suffered the season-ending knee injury in the opener at Minnesota.
Although a rule change means Taylor could be brought back after three weeks, the injury is bad enough that is not likely.
The Packers were already thin along the offensive line and guard Lucas Patrick has missed some time, too.
Last year’s starting guard Billy Turner could play against the Saints.
At the same time the Packers announced Taylor going on I-R, the team also said it is releasing linebacker Greg Roberts from the practice squad.
