The new leader at the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development has a reputation of being a problem solver.
Governor Tony Evers appointed Department of Corrections Deputy Secretary Amy Pechacek to take Caleb Frostman’s place Monday.
Frostman resigned last week due to a backlog of tens of thousands of unemployed Wisconsin workers being forced to wait months for their benefits.
The governor says improvements have to be made at D-W-D so claims are processed faster.
Pechacek dealt with a major pension crisis when she worked for Milwaukee County.
