
Jace Peterson grounded out to shortstop in the ninth inning, wrapping up a no-hitter for Chicago Cubs right-hander Alec Mills.
It was just the 15th major league start for Mills, and he threw 114 pitches while picking up his fifth victory 12-0.
Brewers outfielder Avisail Garcia came to closest to breaking up the no-hitter, with a line drive to right field in the first inning and nearly beating out an infield hit in the sixth.
It was the first no-hitter thrown against the Brewers since Justin Verlander accomplished the feat 13 years ago.
St. Louis comes to town for a five-game series, starting with a Monday doubleheader. Josh Lindblom and Corbin Burnes will be the starting pitchers for manager Craig Counsell today. Game one will begin at 4:10 PM, and the second 7 inning game will begin at 7:10 PM.
