The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources is expecting a busy hunting season this year – despite the coronavirus pandemic.
Archery and crossbow deer hunting seasons open Saturday.
Because hunting is a solitary, outdoor activity, it has a strong appeal during a pandemic.
The D-N-R says deer tag sales have been comparable to past years, though that activity usually picks up closer to gun deer season.
Some stores are experiencing difficulty maintaining adequate supplies of hunting equipment due to an increase in demand and disruptions in the supply chain.
Gun deer season opens November 21st.
Hunters are being advised to buy their ammunition now.
